Meet Our Board of Directors
Judson Park appreciates the dedicated members of our Board of Directors who generously serve our residents and community. Our Board consists of local leaders from various backgrounds who work together to strengthen our foundation of quality, stability and leadership. Read on to meet some of the members of our Board.
Jeff Green

Jeff Green is a respected local business professional who brings valuable expertise and perspective to his role as the Vice Chairman of the Judson Park Board of Directors. Jeff is especially excited about all the new areas that have been opened on campus. According to Green, the commitment of the leadership team to continuously evolve Judson Park and exceed resident expectations is what sets the community apart.
Rena Hamburger
After living at Judson Park for 25 years, Rena is up to the challenge of being a member of the Judson Park Board. For Rena, the best part is finding solutions for residents, in various aspects of life — and enjoying the unique blend of friendliness and professionalism of the staff of Judson Park.
Karen Keiser
As State Senator from the 33rd legislative district, Karen Keiser is an experienced and knowledgeable lawmaker with a track record for bringing people together and getting things done. She already knew many people from the local community who had moved to Judson Park before joining the Board in 2001. But when she became more involved, she was “surprised and delighted” with how many activities and programs are available to help residents keep an active, involved lifestyle, and credits the exceptional staff with making the mission of Judson Park a reality.
Stephen Smith, M.D.
A hospice and palliative care physician, Dr. Smith believes Judson Park exudes quality in every way – from the beautiful community to the ideal setting to the caring employees. He never fails to be touched by the warmth of the staff he meets. Always looking for opportunities to interact with residents, you can find him before Board meetings in the dining room sharing a meal with friends.
Virgil R. Staiger
Now serving his 13th year as a member of the Judson Park Board, Staiger was Director of Community and Government Relations/Public Relations at Highline Community College from 1975-2006. Retired, he continues to be an active member of numerous community organizations and local government committees. He feels blessed to be a part of “The Judson Park Experience” — which began with his father’s residency in the Health Center nearly 20 years ago. He continues to be impressed by the skill sets of the Judson Park residents, and never tires of acknowledging compliments about Judson Park when people hear he’s on the Board.
Gene Thompson
Local business leader Gene Thompson stays busy as majority owner of Forza Coffee Company, with 23 stores, as well as several other businesses. Even so, there was no question about joining the Judson Park Board. Both of his parents were residents, so he knows firsthand about the quality of service and care — and the staff that make up the “Judson family.” Like so many people, Thompson had a preconceived idea that retirement living is impersonal; Judson Park changed all that.
Trudy Thompson
As a Board member, Trudy Thompson is thrilled to be part of a team dedicated to helping people “live life to the fullest” — and she knows the benefits firsthand, as a resident of Judson Park. Her unique position allows Trudy to not only gather information for and by the residents, but prospective residents as well.
David Winningham
Winningham became involved with Judson Park more than 10 years ago when his parents, and later, his mother-in-law, moved to the community. Since then, he has become a frequent visitor and dedicated volunteer. His biggest passion has been interacting with residents, many of whom have become friends. “We are one big family – residents, staff, Board of Directors and families.”
