Pastoral Care Internship Information

 Dear Colleague in Ministry,

Spirit is the strength of age. Ministry with elders enables one to discover the treasures of life and spirit. In addition to serving and meeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs of elders one also discovers the art of being.

Welcome to the Pastoral Care Internship page for Judson Park. At this site you will find information about the rewards, opportunities and requirements of serving elders at Judson Park as a volunteer Pastoral Care Intern.

A career in professional ministry with elders is rewarding professionally, personally and spiritually. Internships at Judson Park are developed so that program participants have the opportunity to experience those rewards first hand as they strengthen skills, participate in ministry and grow in faith and spirit.

As a pastoral care intern you will provide ministry to residents, families and staff in skilled nursing, assisted living and independent settings. Judson Park will work with your field education supervisor to assure that your time and experience will meet necessary field education requirements.

Supervision of Pastoral Care Interns is provided by Rev. Bill Painter, Director of Spiritual Care at Judson Park. Bill is ordained American Baptist, CPE trained, Board Certified with the Association of Professional Chaplains and experienced as a preceptor for volunteers and interns. Bill has been in professional ministry since 1971 with 25 years experience in ministry with elders.
