SEE WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING.

Meet some of the people who know more about Judson Park than anyone else — our residents. You’ll see why they love living here so much, and why there’s no other retirement community in the Seattle area that comes close.

Irene Gordon

Having a voice in her community. That matters to resident Irene Gordon, and that’s why she loves living at Judson Park. Active throughout campus, from water aerobics and traveling to volunteering, Irene not only has her choice of activities and amenities, but enjoys it all even more, because of how friendly and caring everyone is. ”It’s a warm, friendly atmosphere,” says Irene.

Thelma Allen

Not having to plan and prepare meals, joining activities with friends and just feeling secure are all reasons why Thelma Allen enjoys living at Judson Park — and you will, too! She makes sure to take in the view — and all the social interaction. There’s no reason to wait, says Thelma, when considering a move to Judson Park: “Do it!”

Gertrude Pfeffer

“I absolutely love living here,” says Gertrude Pfeffer, when describing her home at Judson Park.  As someone who appreciates beautiful scenery — she has visited 78 countries, taken 12 cruises and walks two miles a day — Gertrude especially loves the sunset from the 4th floor solarium at Judson Park.  That is, when she’s not golfing, writing or volunteering. At Judson Park, there’s always something to see and do — just ask Gertrude!

        Clara Sias

Judson Park is just the beginning for Clara Sias. Here she “experiences the world, step by step” every day — by meeting people and sharing new experiences. She not only accomplished her goal of Volkswalking throughout all 48 of the continental United States by the time she was 70, but she added the remaining two states, 17 countries, and most of the Canadian provinces as well.

Kathy Sanford

When Kathy Sanford’s mom Katherine was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, friends recommended The Grove at Judson Park — and Kathy was grateful they did. “A very caring and trained staff welcomed her,” Kathy explains. “They are patient, kind, and treated all of us with the utmost respect.  That meant a lot to me, because family was always very important to my mother.”

Walter Carsten

A Rotarian for more than 50 years, Walt Carsten was recently honored for a lifetime of community service. This former local educator also once served on the Board of Judson Park, which is when he first fell in love with our community. Today, Walt and his wife Joyce are still giving back to those  in their neighborhood — which makes this a great place to live.

Bob & Becky Larsen

Dr. Bob Larsen, a general surgeon with extensive experience in small communities, first began to think about the benefits of retirement community living years ago, when his wife Becky was diagnosed with early onset cognitive impairment. Their goal is simple: to spend as many years enjoying life together as possible. And Bob determined that the supportive services available at Judson Park made it the best choice to achieve that goal. So they decided to make the move sooner rather than later. Now, Becky participates in everyday activities at Judson Park and Bob is able to continue serving on two boards at the University of Sioux Falls and a resort board in Hawaii. They travel frequently to visit family and friends, attend board meetings and vacation. If and when Becky needs additional support, Bob is reassured by access to our on-site memory support program.

Mary Mills

Although it was the breathtaking mountain and sound views that originally attracted Mary Mills to Judson Park, it’s the vibrant lifestyle she values most now. “Judson Park offers relief from the demanding chores that a home requests. And it allows you to connect with many kind and thoughtful people. The staff is outstanding – they encourage us to think  like a family. It’s the best decision you could possibly make.”
